Zee Entertainment shares rise ahead of Q3 results
Zee Entertainment's share price went up by 4% on January 22, 2026, before the company announced its results for the third quarter of 2025.
The stock had been going down for four days before this increase.
The company's board is set to meet on January 27, 2026, to discuss and approve these results and also to decide on giving a dividend to its shareholders.
The rise in the share price might also be because the overall market is feeling better due to less geopolitical tension.
However, the company reported a 5.1% decline in profit year-on-year due to weak advertising demand and higher content costs.
Advertising revenue, which is a big part of their income, fell by 9.4% compared to last year.
On the positive side, subscription revenue and digital business revenue, like from their platform ZEE5, showed good growth.
ZEE5 even made a profit for the first time.
The company's CEO said that their business is closely tied to the FMCG sector, which is their biggest advertising category.
So, any improvement or decline in the FMCG sector directly affects their business.
Zee Entertainment's share price rose 4% on January 22, 2026, ahead of Q3 results.
The company reported a 5.1% year-on-year decline in Q3 profit to Rs 155 crore due to weak advertising demand and higher content costs.
Advertising revenue, which accounts for around 40% of the topline, fell 9.4% year-on-year but saw a sequential increase of 5.7% from Q2FY26 to Q3FY26.
Subscription revenue rose about 7% year-on-year, offering some relief, and ZEE5 revenues grew 73% year-on-year, delivering positive EBITDA of Rs 56.4 crore.
The company's CEO, Punit Goenka, admitted that the broadcaster remains significantly exposed to the FMCG sector, which is its largest advertising category.
