Visakhapatnam Shelter Home Reunites Mentally Ill with Families
In Visakhapatnam, a shelter home worked with a rehabilitation foundation to help people with mental illnesses.
They found 95 people who were lost and helped them get better.
Some stayed at the shelter, while others went to special centers in other cities.
The police and a local hospital also helped.
Doctors, social workers, and local groups all pitched in to make this happen.
These people were then able to go home and be with their families.
This project also helped spread the word that mental illnesses can be treated.
The Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation and AUTD collaborated to reunite individuals with mental illnesses.
95 individuals were successfully treated and reunited with their families.
An MoU formalized the partnership on September 23, 2025.
36 individuals were treated directly at the AUTD Shelter.
