Viswanathan Takes Additional Charge as ChPA Chairperson
S. Viswanathan, who was the Deputy Chairperson of the Chennai Port Authority, has now taken on the additional role of Chairperson.
This change happened because the previous Chairperson, Sunil Paliwal, left his position to become the Chairman of the Inland Waterways Authority of India.
This new role for Viswanathan started on December 1, 2025.
The Inland Waterways Authority of India is under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways.
So, Viswanathan will now be in charge of the Chennai Port Authority.
