Kolhapur Banks Told to Meet Credit Plan Targets

Kolhapur’s district collector held a meeting with banks and government officials.

He asked banks to lend money according to the district’s yearly plan.

The plan is worth ₹47,000 crore for 2026-27.

By the end of June, banks had lent ₹20,071 crore, or 43 percent of the target.

They were told to reach their half-yearly goal by the end of September.

Banks must also tell people about government programs that can provide loans or other help.

Officials especially want eligible farmers to receive benefits from the farmer loan waiver scheme.

Banks were asked to fix pending applications and teach people how to avoid digital fraud.
