Geopolitical Issues, Visa Hurdles Keep Bangladeshi Exhibitors Away
The 37th annual trade fair of the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BNCCI) in Kolkata recently concluded.
This year, Bangladeshi exhibitors, who usually participate, were not present due to problems with visas and political issues between countries.
The fair was changed to focus more on consumers and celebrations, coinciding with Christmas and New Year.
It featured local crafts and products like Pattachitra and Murshidabad silk.
The fair also had events for small businesses to connect with government officials and foreign diplomats.
The BNCCI hopes to have a food-themed fair soon and expects Bangladeshi exhibitors to return once the issues are resolved.
Bangladeshi exhibitors missed the 37th annual trade fair of the BNCCI due to geopolitical tensions and visa issues.
The fair was reworked to focus on a consumer-centric approach and celebrations, coinciding with Christmas and New Year.
Local artisans showcased products like Pattachitra, Murshidabad silk, and other district-specific crafts.
