Madhya Pradesh Plans ₹11,000 Crore Daytime Farmer Power

Madhya Pradesh Plans ₹11,000 Crore Daytime Farmer Power

Madhya Pradesh wants farmers to receive electricity during the day instead of mainly at night.

Farmers would use this electricity to run pumps and water their crops.

The plan would provide about four hours of daytime power.

It is expected to cost ₹11,000 crore.

The state must upgrade transformers and electricity lines in rural areas.

The proposal will first go to a state finance committee and then to the Ministry of Power.

Officials say daytime solar electricity could help save money.

The plan may take more than a year to start after funding is received.
