India Launches ₹14 Crore Animal Welfare Funding Circle
India has started a special group to help animals by giving ₹14 crore.
This money comes from different groups that care about animals.
The group wants to make sure animals are taken care of better because they are important for people's health and the environment.
They talked about how to make animal welfare a bigger priority in India and how to work together to make a bigger difference.
They also started a special team to help snakes in the Western Ghats because snakes need more help and protection.
India's first collaborative animal welfare funding circle launched with ₹14 crore initial funding.
The forum aims to address funding gaps in the animal welfare sector, which receives only 1.5% of India's CSR funding.
The initiative is backed by Upadhyaya Foundation, India Animal Fund, Caring Friends, Mela Foundation, and Coefficient Giving.
The forum facilitated cross-sector collaboration to position animal welfare as a critical development and policy priority.
A first-of-its-kind Snake Conservation Coalition was launched in the Western Ghats to advance snake conservation.
