Indian-origin CFO sentenced for bribing surgeons at SpineFrontier

Indian-origin CFO sentenced for bribing surgeons at SpineFrontier

A man named Aditya Humad worked as the money boss of a company that makes parts for back surgeries.

He secretly gave money to some doctors, pretending it was payment for their advice.

But the doctors did not really do any work for that money.

Giving money this way to get doctors to use your products is called a bribe, and it is against the law.

A court in the United States found out about it and punished him.

Humad has to go to jail for four months.

He also has to pay a fine and will be watched closely for one year after he leaves jail.

The founder of his company was charged too.

The government says it will keep catching people who cheat in health care, no matter how long it takes.
