Youth Delegates Discuss Sustainable Technology at MiniCOP30
MiniCOP30 was a special event where young people from different places came together to talk about how technology affects our environment.
They discussed things like electronic waste and artificial intelligence.
The young delegates made a plan to make technology more sustainable.
They said that electronic products should be made to last longer and be recycled safely.
They also talked about protecting the people who work with electronic waste and making sure that artificial intelligence is used in a way that is good for the environment and for everyone.
The event was very exciting, and the young people had lots of good ideas about how to make technology better for the planet.
MiniCOP30, organized by the Bajaj Foundation, was India's first local youth-focused climate simulation on electronic waste and artificial intelligence.
Youth delegates adopted a collective resolution calling for immediate action on the environmental and social impact of electronics and AI.
Participants emphasized the need for circularity in the electronics lifecycle, including durability, repair, reuse, and safe recycling.
Delegates called for the protection and formalization of informal e-waste workers, including access to training, healthcare, fair wages, and legal aid.
Discussions also focused on responsible AI, urging energy-efficient, low-carbon AI practices and meaningful inclusion of youth in AI governance.
