India's Seafood Exports Rise 16% Amid US Tariffs
India has been selling more seafood to other countries.
In the first seven months of this year, they sold $4.87 billion worth of seafood, which is a 16% increase from last year.
They also sent more seafood in terms of weight, with a 12% increase.
This happened because the US, which usually buys a lot of Indian shrimp, put higher taxes on it.
So, India sold more to other countries like China, Vietnam, Belgium, Malaysia, and Germany.
To China alone, they sold $845.67 million worth of seafood, which is more than last year's $710.21 million.
India's seafood exports increased by 16% in value to $4.87 billion in April-October 2025.
Export volume grew by 12% to 10.73 lakh metric tonnes during the same period.
Exports to China rose to $845.67 million from $710.21 million in the previous year.
The US imposed tariffs, leading to a dip in exports there but an increase to other countries.
