JSW Steel Reports 9% Production Increase in October
JSW Steel, a major steel company, announced its production numbers for October.
They made about 9% more steel compared to last year, totaling around 25 lakh tonnes.
Most of this increase came from their factories in India, where production went up by 10%.
Their factory in Ohio, USA, also produced a little bit more steel.
However, one of their big furnaces in India was temporarily stopped for upgrades, which made their overall capacity use a bit lower.
This furnace is expected to start working again in early 2026.
JSW Steel's consolidated crude steel output rose by 9% year-on-year to 24.95 lakh tonnes in October.
Production in India increased by 10% year-on-year to 24.12 lakh tonnes.
JSW Steel USA - Ohio produced 0.83 lakh tonnes in October, a slight increase from the previous year.
India operations had a capacity utilization of 83% in October.
Blast Furnace 3 at Vijayanagar was shut down for upgrades and is expected to restart in February 2026.
