Delhi Poll Body Says SIR Notices Do Not Mean Deletion

Delhi is checking its voter list in a process called a Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.

Some voters received notices because their information did not match older records or had other discrepancies.

Getting a notice does not mean that a person has been removed from the voter list.

It means election officials want the person to provide documents or correct information.

Several well-known politicians and public figures received notices.

Officials said Rekha Gupta’s record was checked and validated for inclusion.

People can send replies and documents to election officers.

No name can be deleted without a hearing and a formal order that can be appealed.

The review is scheduled to finish by October 29, and the final voter list is due on November 4, 2026.
