PAN-Aadhaar Link Deadline Approaches December 31, 2025
The government has set a deadline of December 31, 2025, for people to link their PAN (Permanent Account Number) with their Aadhaar.
If you don't link them by this date, your PAN card will stop working from January 1, 2026.
You can do this online on the income tax website, and you don't even need to log in.
The rule applies to everyone who got their PAN using their Aadhaar application details before October 1, 2024.
The government said this in a notice they released on April 3, 2025.
If you miss the deadline, you might not get tax refunds, and banks might take more money from your salary or other income.
You can still link them later, but you'll have to pay a fee.
Government sets December 31, 2025, as the deadline for PAN-Aadhaar linking.
Failure to link by the deadline will inactivate PAN cards from January 1, 2026.
Linking can be done online through the e-filing portal without logging in.
