Karnataka CM Leads Meeting After CWMA Water Order
Karnataka’s chief minister, D.K. Shivakumar, held a big meeting in Bengaluru after a national water authority said the state must give 3,500 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu for 15 days.
Karnataka is worried because its reservoirs are low and it could face a water crisis.
The meeting had many top officials and talked about how to handle the order and the protests from farmers.
Shivakumar said the state will hold an all‑party meeting on August 2 to decide what to do next.
He also said that politicians from all sides are working together to protect Karnataka’s interests.
Karnataka CM D.K. Shivakumar chaired a high‑level meeting after the CWMA upheld a 3,500‑cusec/day release order to Tamil Nadu for 15 days.
The meeting included senior officials and focused on Karnataka’s response amid drought concerns and farmer protests.
Karnataka has appealed the CWRC order, arguing reservoir levels are inadequate and a drinking‑water crisis is possible.
An all‑party meeting is scheduled for August 2 at the CM’s residence to discuss the dispute and future action.
CM Shivakumar said Karnataka’s MPs and Union Ministers are cooperating beyond politics to protect state interests.
