Sarvesh Kushare wins silver in Commonwealth Games high jump

Sarvesh Anil Kushare, an Indian athlete, won the silver medal in the men's high jump final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.

He cleared a height of 2.25 meters in his final attempt, which was his best performance in the event.

Sarvesh had set a new national record of 2.31 meters just last month.

His competitor, Romaine Beckford, also cleared 2.25 meters but won the gold medal because he did it in his first attempt.

Neither athlete could clear the 2.28-meter mark in three attempts.

This is Sarvesh's first major multi-sporting medal, and it's a big achievement for him.
