India Tech Funding Reaches $10.3 Billion Despite Fewer Deals
Indian technology companies raised $10.3 billion in the first nine months of 2026.
That was 7% more than during the same period in 2025.
However, there were many fewer funding rounds, so investors placed larger amounts in fewer companies.
Business software, financial technology, and technology infrastructure received the most money.
Infrastructure funding grew especially quickly because companies needed computing and data centres connected to artificial intelligence.
Very young companies received less seed funding than before.
Companies at the early stage received more money, while late-stage funding stayed fairly steady.
Six companies became unicorns, reaching that milestone with less money and in less time than new unicorns the previous year.
The period also included 29 IPOs and 91 acquisitions.
Indian technology companies raised $10.3 billion in equity funding during the first nine months of 2026, up 7% year on year.
Funding rounds fell 38% to 1,134, as 18 deals worth at least $100 million concentrated capital in fewer companies.
Enterprise Applications raised $3.5 billion, FinTech $2.2 billion, and Enterprise Infrastructure $1.6 billion after growing 436%.
AI Infrastructure led individual themes with $1.2 billion, followed by Digital Lending at $799 million and Payments at $773 million.
