Minister Promises Swift Completion of Somashila High-Level Canal
Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said an irrigation canal will be finished soon.
The canal is called the Somashila High-Level Canal, or SHLC.
He said about 68% of the work is already done.
The remaining 32% still needs to be completed.
The government says it is fixing problems so farmers can receive water.
The water is meant for Marripadu, Udayagiri, and nearby dry areas.
The minister also started the rebuilding of an old temple.
Several other temples in the area will receive government funding.
Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said the SHLC will be completed soon to provide irrigation water to Marripadu mandal.
He said 68% of the canal was completed during its initial phase, while the remaining 32% was neglected under the previous administration.
The coalition government is addressing pending bottlenecks to extend irrigation to Marripadu, Udayagiri, and nearby drought-prone areas.
A foundation stone was laid for the Rs 1 crore reconstruction of Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple in DC Palli.
Funds have been sanctioned for reconstructing 29 temples and supporting three other major shrines in Marripadu mandal.
