ICAI Review of IndusInd Bank Amidst Financial Concerns
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will be looking closely at IndusInd Bank's financial records for the past couple of years.
This review is happening because of some concerning issues, including possible fraud and mistakes in how money was handled.
The bank recently reported a big loss, and the people in charge of the bank, CEO Sumant Kathpalia and deputy CEO Arun Khurana, were told they couldn't trade stocks due to investigations by SEBI.
The investigation by ICAI will help determine if everything was done correctly.
ICAI is reviewing IndusInd Bank's financial statements for 2023-24 and 2024-25.
The review follows reports of accounting discrepancies and suspected fraud.
IndusInd Bank reported a quarterly net loss of Rs 2,328 crore.
Former CEO Sumant Kathpalia and deputy CEO Arun Khurana were restrained by SEBI over alleged insider trading.
SEBI indicated the RBI was already investigating the matter since March.
