NHRC Seeks Report on Jagti Camp Conditions
A long time ago, many Kashmiri Pandit families had to leave their homes in Kashmir because of violence.
They moved to a place called Jagti Township near Jammu, where the government promised to help them settle.
But now, the homes and roads there are in very bad shape, and the people living there say it's unsafe and uncomfortable.
A man named Vishva Ranjan Pandita complained to a big organization called the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
The NHRC has now asked the local government to send a report about these problems and fix them.
The people hope that this time, the government will really help them and make their living conditions better.
NHRC directs J&K administration to submit a fresh report on Jagti Township's living conditions by February 28.
Complaint filed by Vishva Ranjan Pandita highlights decaying housing, broken roads, and inadequate infrastructure.
Residents allege prolonged administrative indifference and lack of budget for repairs.
NHRC notes that earlier reports did not adequately address the complaints.
