Medaram Jatara: 4,000 Buses Deployed
The Minister for Transport in Telangana has asked the state's bus service, TGSRTC, to run 4,000 buses to help 20 lakh (2 million) people go to a big religious event called Medaram Jatara.
This is more buses and more people than last time.
The buses will go through Warangal, Hanamkonda, Khammam, and Karimnagar, where there will be lots of people.
The Minister wants the buses to run smoothly and work with the police.
They will also teach people about road safety.
The Minister wants to build a new permanent bus station in Medaram and maybe more in Hyderabad.
They also want to buy more buses and hire more people to run them.
Some bus stations are not making money, so they want to fix that too.
Meanwhile, the traditional Mande Melige ritual was celebrated with religious fervour in Tadvai mandal of Mulugu district.
This ritual marks the formal countdown to the biennial Sammakka Saralamma jatara, often described as the Kumbh Mela of the South.
Tribal priests performed traditional purification rituals at the Sammakka temple in Medaram and the Saralamma temple in Kannepally.
The main festivities will begin on January 28 and conclude on January 31 with the ‘Tirugu Vaaram’ rituals.
The state government has made elaborate arrangements, including enhanced security and improved civic amenities, to manage the massive influx of devotees.
4,000 RTC buses to be deployed for Medaram Jatara, an increase from 3,491 buses last year.
Expected 20 lakh passengers, up from 16.82 lakh previously.
