Fresh Case Against BJD Leader Bikram Panda for Threatening Witness
Police in Odisha have opened another case against politician Bikram Kumar Panda.
They say he and his aide allegedly threatened a witness while Panda was in jail.
The witness, Lalit Mangaraj, made a complaint to the police.
Police also named a jail doctor in the case.
They said the alleged calls came from the doctor’s phone and from the doctor’s jail chamber.
Investigators checked jail CCTV footage and collected technical evidence.
Panda had been jailed in a case involving the murder of lawyer Pitabash Panda.
He was released on bail on September 1.
Police said they may take action against the jail doctor for helping the conversation happen.
