Dalmia Cement Deploys 24 Electric Trucks in Tamil Nadu

Dalmia Cement is using 24 electric trucks to carry materials for making cement.

The trucks will travel between Karaikal Port and two cement plants in Tamil Nadu.

They will carry petcoke, slag and gypsum.

These trucks replace trucks that use diesel fuel.

Each electric truck is expected to travel about 12,000 kilometers every month.

The companies also created a system that lets the trucks quickly switch trailers.

This can reduce waiting time while trailers are loaded or unloaded.

The fleet is expected to prevent about 3,735 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
