Bangladesh Violence Escalates with Leader Shooting
In Bangladesh, a leader named Md Motaleb Shikdar from a student party called the National Citizen Party (NCP) was shot in the head on Monday morning.
This happened in a place called Sonadanga, in Khulna.
Shikdar was hurt badly and is in the hospital.
Before this, another leader named Osman Hadi was killed, and people are saying it's because of political fights.
Some people think India is involved, but the police say they don't have proof.
A leader from the BNP party said that a lawyer from another party, Jamaat-e-Islami, helped the person who might have killed Hadi get out of jail twice.
Everyone is worried because there is a lot of violence before the elections.
There have also been attacks on minorities, like a Hindu man named Dipu Chandra Das who was killed by a mob.
People are protesting because they feel the government isn't protecting minorities.
The situation is very tense, and everyone hopes it will get better soon.
Md Motaleb Shikdar, a senior NCP leader, was shot in the head in Khulna on Monday morning.
Shikdar is receiving treatment for his injuries, which occurred around 11:45 am local time.
The shooting comes amid escalating political violence following the killing of activist Osman Hadi.
BNP leader Nilofer Chowdhury Moni alleged that Jamaat-e-Islami leader Shishir Manir secured bail for Hadi's alleged killer twice.
Police have not found evidence supporting claims that the suspect fled to India.
