UP Govt Increases Marriage Aid for Construction Workers' Daughters
The government in Uttar Pradesh is giving more money to help families of construction workers pay for their daughters' weddings.
For a regular wedding, families will get ₹65,000.
If it's a marriage between different castes, they get ₹75,000.
For big group weddings where many couples get married together, the families can receive up to ₹85,000, plus an extra ₹15,000 to help with party arrangements.
The Chief Minister said this is important because these workers help build the state, and their daughters should not have to worry about wedding costs.
The government will even help with the arrangements for the big group weddings.
This new help will support many families, as over 1.88 crore workers are registered.
Applying for this help is now completely online and free of charge.
Uttar Pradesh government has increased financial aid for construction workers' daughters' marriages under the Kanya Vivah Sahayata Yojana.
Assistance amounts are now ₹65,000 for normal marriages, ₹75,000 for inter-caste marriages, and up to ₹85,000 per couple for mass marriages.
An additional ₹15,000 is provided for event arrangements in mass marriages, with the Labour Department handling these logistics.
Over 1.88 crore workers are registered with the Board, which has distributed ₹6,336.61 crore under various welfare schemes.
