Uttar Pradesh Governor's Secretariat Seeks Security for IAS Officer
Rinku Singh Rahi is an IAS officer working in Jalaun district.
He says he and his family are not safe.
He also says a police officer in Orai would not accept his complaint.
Rahi wrote to the governor’s secretariat about this on August 19.
A communication dated September 25 says the secretariat asked the police chief to make sure Rahi has proper security and to report what action was taken.
Rahi also asked for an inquiry into the alleged refusal and for possible disciplinary action.
He connected his concerns to a shooting in 2009, when he was hurt while investigating alleged problems with welfare schemes.
He survived, but the injury permanently damaged one eye.
Rahi says he is waiting to see whether officials follow the directions.
