Cockroach movement claims victory as India's education minister resigns
Many young people in India are very upset.
They study very hard but still cannot find good jobs.
A big medical school test was cancelled because the exam questions were leaked before the test.
Some very sad young people hurt themselves because of it.
The young people started a protest called the cockroach movement.
They chose a cockroach as their symbol because a top judge once said something about jobless young people being like cockroaches.
The protesters used jokes and satire to make their point.
The education minister quit his job, which felt like a big win for them.
But the young people say the real problems, like unfair exams and not enough jobs, are still there.
India's education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, resigned after the cockroach movement, a protest by young people over education and unemployment, claimed its biggest victory yet.
The protests were sparked by the cancellation of a medical school entrance exam after questions were leaked, with some despondent young people taking their own lives.
The cockroach became the movement's symbol after India's chief justice allegedly compared jobless young people to 'cockroaches.'
Irregularities in education and rampant unemployment have been major issues in northern India since at least the early 1970s.
India spends about 4.1% of its GDP on education, well below the 6% a government commission recommended 60 years ago.
