Delhi Govt Urged to Expedite Spending of Allocated Budget
The Delhi government has a big budget of 1 lakh crore rupees, but they have only spent about 25-30% of it so far.
The Chief Secretary, who is like the top boss in the government, told all the department heads to spend money faster.
He wants them to start projects quickly, approve funds, and make sure things get done on time.
They will also review how they're spending money every week.
This is because they're starting to plan next year's budget and need to know how much money they'll actually use this year.
Delhi Chief Secretary Dharmendra urged Heads of Departments (HoDs) to expedite budget spending.
Only 25-30% of the allocated budget has been utilized in the current financial year.
The Chief Secretary reviewed expenditure and directed HoDs to speed up ongoing projects.
HoDs are instructed to hold weekly meetings to review projects and fund utilization.
The Finance Department is preparing Revised Estimates (RE) for 2025-26 and Budget Estimates (BE) for the next financial year.
