Three Arrested in Uttar Pradesh Cyber Fraud Network

Police in Delhi say they arrested three men in Uttar Pradesh over an alleged online money theft.

The case involved a 72-year-old man who wanted an electricity connection and a name change on his power account.

Someone called him and said he needed to pay an extra Rs 13.

The caller sent him a file through WhatsApp and persuaded him to install it.

After that, nearly Rs 2 lakh was taken from his bank account.

Police say the accused helped move the stolen money through CSC wallets, bank accounts and SIM cards.

Investigators linked five cybercrime complaints to the recovered accounts and found transactions worth more than Rs 2.50 crore.

The investigation is continuing to trace the rest of the money and other people who may be involved.
