HYBE India Shortlist Signals Rigorous Path to Global Girl Group
HYBE India is looking for young women to form an Indian girl group.
Auditions were held in India and internationally.
Getting shortlisted would only be the beginning.
Trainees would need to practice singing and dancing together, often many times.
They would also learn how to perform for cameras and work as a team.
Coaches could give them frequent corrections and evaluations.
The trainees would need to stay confident when something goes wrong.
Their different languages, music and dance backgrounds could help make the group unique.
The goal is to create performers who can connect with audiences around the world.
HYBE India opened auditions in March for women born between 2005 and 2011 in vocals, rap, dance, acting and modelling.
The company aims to create a structured pathway for Indian talent to reach a global audience.
Shortlisted trainees could face intensive development in singing, dancing, teamwork, camera skills and performance resilience.
HYBE’s KATSEYE project shows how trainees are evaluated through repeated missions, feedback and group-focused training.
The Indian group’s challenge will be combining a structured global pop system with the members’ diverse cultural identities.
