40 Picnickers Escape Bus Mishap
Imagine you're on a bus with your friends, having a great time after a fun picnic.
Suddenly, the bus starts shaking wildly because the front wheel falls off.
Everyone is scared, thinking the bus might flip over.
But the driver manages to stop the bus safely, and no one gets hurt.
This happened on a busy road in Ganjam district.
The bus was old and not well-maintained, which caused the problem.
It's a reminder that safety is important, especially when traveling during holidays.
More than 40 picnickers had a narrow escape when the front wheel of their bus detached on a busy highway in Ganjam district.
The incident occurred at 1.40 pm on December 31 near Ganialana chowk under Digapahandi police limits on State Highway No. 17.
The bus was carrying revellers from Chandbali in Bhadrak district to Puri after celebrating at various picnic spots, including Taptapani hot springs.
The bus lurched violently and dragged for nearly 200 metres, causing panic among passengers, but the driver managed to stop it safely.
No injuries were reported, but the incident raised concerns over the mechanical fitness of private buses on state highways.
