Chandubi Festival concludes with wetland conservation focus
The Chandubi Festival is a big celebration that happens every year in a beautiful wetland called Chandubi.
This year, it was the 16th time the festival took place, and it lasted for five days.
People came to enjoy traditional music, dance, and food.
They also took boat rides on the lake and learned about how important it is to take care of nature.
Special guests like Dr Purnima Devi Barman, who works to protect nature, and local leaders spoke about why we should keep the wetland clean and safe.
They said using plastic is bad for the environment and health, and we should start learning about nature from a young age.
The festival also reminded everyone that Chandubi is a special place that was formed by an earthquake long ago, and it's important to preserve its history and ecology.
The 16th Chandubi Festival concluded on January 5 with a traditional bonfire, celebrating indigenous culture and environmental awareness.
The festival featured traditional music, cultural programs, indigenous cuisine, and boat rides on Chandubi Beel.
Organized by local student and community organizations, the event highlighted the importance of wetland conservation and biodiversity preservation.
Notable attendees included Dr Purnima Devi Barman, who emphasized environmental education and anti-plastic initiatives, and local leaders who stressed the need for government protection of the wetland.
