JioHotstar Replaces Hotstar Across Three Major International Markets
JioHotstar is a streaming service from JioStar.
It has replaced Hotstar in the United Kingdom, Canada and Singapore.
People can watch Indian movies, television shows, reality programs, children’s content and anime.
The service has more than 160,000 hours of programs in more than 12 Asian languages.
Bigg Boss viewers in all three countries can vote while the show is happening.
Viewers in the UK and Canada can also watch a live feed all day and night.
Canadian viewers can watch Bigg Boss Hindi seven days before its television broadcast.
The service includes personalised recommendations, subtitles and dubbing.
Live cricket and other sports are not available at launch because of existing rights agreements.
JioHotstar launched in the United Kingdom, Canada and Singapore on September 2, replacing Hotstar in those markets.
The service offers more than 160,000 hours of films, shows, originals, regional programming, reality content, children’s programs and anime across more than 12 Asian languages.
Viewers in all three markets can vote live during six-language editions of Bigg Boss; the UK and Canada also receive a 24-hour live feed.
Quarterly and annual plans cost £19.99 and £69.99 in the UK, C$19.99 and C$49.99 in Canada, and S$29.98 and S$69.98 in Singapore.
Live sports, including the Indian Premier League and Indian cricket matches, are excluded at launch because of existing content-rights arrangements.
