Delhi Metro Expansion Approved with 13 New Stations
The Delhi Metro is getting bigger!
The government has approved a plan to add three new lines with 13 new stations.
These new lines will connect important places like the Central Vista area, the airport, and parts of South Delhi.
The project will cost a lot of money and is expected to be finished in three years.
The new metro lines will help reduce traffic and pollution, making it easier for people to travel around the city.
Some people are happy about this because it will make commuting easier, but others are worried about the environmental impact and temporary traffic problems during construction.
The Delhi Metro is already one of the biggest in the world, and this expansion will make it even bigger, helping millions of people get around the city every day.
The Union Cabinet approved a ₹12,015 crore project to expand Delhi Metro with three new corridors and 13 new stations.
The new corridors include R.K. Ashram Marg to Indraprastha (9.913 km), Aerocity to IGD Airport Terminal 1 (2.263 km), and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj (3.9 km).
The expansion aims to improve connectivity, reduce road congestion, and lower pollution by providing better access to Central Vista, the airport, and South Delhi.
The project will take three years to complete and is expected to benefit around 60,000 office goers and 2 lakh visitors daily.
The Delhi Metro network currently spans 395 km with 289 stations and handles an average of 65 lakh passengers daily.
