Indian-Origin Men Arrested with 300 Pounds of Cocaine
Two men from California, Gurpreet Singh and Jasveer Singh, were arrested in Indiana for having a lot of cocaine in their truck.
The police stopped their truck for a regular check and found the drugs hidden inside.
The drugs were worth about $7 million.
Both men are now in jail and might be sent back to their home country.
This has made people worry about how truck driver licenses are given in California, especially to people from other countries.
Gurpreet Singh (25) and Jasveer Singh (30) were arrested for transporting 309 pounds of cocaine in a semi-truck.
The drugs were found during a routine inspection and K-9 unit alert on Interstate 70 in Indiana.
The cocaine was hidden in the sleeper berth of the truck and valued at approximately $7 million.
Both men were charged with dealing narcotics, a Level 2 felony, and face deportation.
The case has raised concerns about commercial driver's licenses issued in California to foreign-origin individuals.
