Telangana Poll Chief Among 93 Lakh Voters Served Notices

The Election Commission found differences in the information recorded for many Telangana voters.

Nearly 93 lakh people were flagged, including the state’s chief election officer.

In his case, one record used the initial “C,” while another used his full surname.

The notices were created automatically by a computer system.

More than 34 lakh notices had been sent by Wednesday.

Officials said some voters could be removed if they do not provide the requested information.

However, small mistakes can be corrected using Form 8.

The computer system used for this checking is called ERONET.
