KTR Declares December 9 Vijay Diwas
K.T. Rama Rao, a leader in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, has declared December 9 as Vijay Diwas, which means Victory Day.
This day is important because it marks 16 years since the central government of India announced that Telangana would become a separate state.
The decision to create Telangana came after many years of people fighting for it and making big sacrifices.
One important event was when K. Chandrashekar Rao, the leader of BRS, went on a hunger strike.
This strike helped push the government to announce the creation of Telangana.
To celebrate Vijay Diwas, KTR shared old photos on social media showing the moment KCR ended his hunger strike.
KTR said that without the hunger strike, there would have been no announcement, and without the announcement, Telangana might not have become a state on June 2.
K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) declared December 9 as Vijay Diwas to mark the 16th anniversary of the Telangana state creation announcement.
The announcement was a result of years of public mobilization, mass struggle, and significant sacrifices.
K. Chandrashekar Rao's (KCR) indefinite hunger strike was a pivotal factor in the announcement.
KTR shared historical photographs on X (Twitter) to observe Vijay Diwas, highlighting the interconnectedness of key events.
KTR emphasized the direct link between KCR’s fast, the Centre’s announcement, and the eventual achievement of Telangana's statehood.
