Iran Reports No Progress Reviving Interim Deal With US

The United States and Iran are in a big fight, and in June they agreed to stop fighting for a little while.

That agreement was called an interim peace deal.

Very quickly, both sides said the deal was over or suspended.

Now Iran says there has been no progress in talks to bring the deal back.

The two countries blame each other for breaking it.

The United States says Iran did not open a very important waterway called the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran says the United States did not stop blocking its ports or give back its money.

Many ships use the Strait of Hormuz to carry oil, so the conflict has pushed oil prices higher.

There were also attacks on ships this week, and four sailors were sadly killed.

Both countries are still using strong words against each other.
