Pakistan Weighs Emergency Measures Before PTI Islamabad March

Pakistan’s federal government is worried about security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It is also concerned about a planned PTI march to Islamabad on October 4.

The march is meant to demand the release of Imran Khan.

Government officials have discussed declaring an emergency or imposing governor’s rule in the province.

They say the provincial administration has not done enough to control terrorism.

The Pakistan Peoples Party has not promised support, saying it will study the proposal under the law.

The party said peaceful protests are allowed in a democracy.

It also said attacking the state is not acceptable and called for dialogue.
