Opposition Shouts Slogans Against Amit Shah as Monsoon Session Ends

The Indian Parliament had its last day of meetings for this season, which is called the Monsoon Session.

On this day, lawmakers from the opposition parties were very upset.

They shouted at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, demanding he apologise.

They wanted to know who ordered the police to use batons in what they called the “lathi-charge.”

Lawmakers from the government side shouted their own slogans back.

Amit Shah smiled as he asked his supporters to sit down.

Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into the hall.

Everyone sang a patriotic song called Vande Mataram, and the day's session came to an end.

Afterwards, party leaders gathered for an informal tea meeting with the Speaker.
