NITI Aayog Report Urges Maharashtra To Link Skilling With Jobs

NITI Aayog published a report about improving job training in India.

It says training should be judged by whether people get jobs, earn better wages or start successful work.

Maharashtra already has a platform called Mahaswayam to connect learners, employers and jobs.

The report suggests starting job skills in schools from Class 6.

It also wants more apprenticeships so students can learn while working.

Training companies could receive funding based on the jobs they help people obtain.

A Digital Skills Passport could keep a person’s education, skills and work experience in one record.

The report says many workers still lack social-security benefits.

Maharashtra will need to see whether its existing programmes produce lasting employment, not just certificates.
