GBP Officials Declared Offenders After Failing to Appear in Court
Some people who used to work for a real estate company called GBP are in big trouble.
They're accused of tricking investors out of a lot of money and then running away.
Because they didn't show up in court even after being told to, the court now considers them fugitives.
The government is also investigating them to get back the money, and has already seized some of their properties.
They also have other legal troubles because they didn't follow rules with the consumer protection agencies and other courts.
Absconding officials of GBP, a real estate firm, have been declared proclaimed offenders.
The court declared the officials after they repeatedly failed to appear despite arrest warrants.
The ED is investigating the matter under PMLA and has attached properties worth Rs 148 crore.
The accused face cases with the Consumer Commission, Chandigarh Police, and cheque bounce cases.
RERA had filed a complaint against GBP Group for non-compliance.
