Modi Urges BRICS to Make Global South Rule-Shaper
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
He said developing countries often face the effects of global crises but have too little say in major decisions.
He compared this system to a pyramid, where a few powerful countries hold most of the influence.
He wants BRICS to help turn that pyramid into a partnership where every country has a voice.
Modi proposed 10 ideas for changing global governance.
These ideas could become a BRICS reform roadmap by the next summit.
He called for faster reform of the United Nations Security Council and international financial institutions.
He also said young diplomats should receive training to help shape rules about technology and other global issues.
Modi proposed systems to keep BRICS projects moving and to help seafarers during emergencies.
