Ukraine and US agree monthly deliveries of Patriot interceptor missiles
Ukraine is a country that is at war with Russia.
To protect itself, Ukraine uses special machines called Patriot air defence systems.
These machines shoot down enemy rockets and missiles.
Ukraine needed more missiles for these machines.
The United States agreed to send some every month.
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said thank you but we need even more.
Ukraine will get fewer missiles next year than this year.
That is partly because there are wars happening in the Middle East too.
The American president, Donald Trump, talked to the leaders of Russia and Ukraine.
He says he thinks both leaders want to make peace.
Ukraine and the US reached an agreement on monthly deliveries of Patriot interceptor missiles, Zelensky confirmed in Belgrade.
Zelensky said the monthly volumes fall short of Ukraine's air defence needs.
Ukraine is expected to receive fewer interceptor missiles in 2026 than in 2025.
Earlier ally deliveries had fallen largely because of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
Trump said he believes both Putin and Zelensky want to end the war after his recent talks with both leaders.
