India Launches DIGIPIN Platform to Modernize Address System
The Indian Department of Posts has launched two new digital tools.
These tools, 'Know Your DIGIPIN' and 'Know Your PIN Code,' are part of a plan to update India's address system.
The DIGIPIN system uses a special code to pinpoint every location.
This should help with deliveries and services, especially in remote areas.
It's part of a bigger effort to use digital tools for the government.
The 'Know Your DIGIPIN' tool helps you find your DIGIPIN based on where you are, or find a location using the DIGIPIN code.
The goal is to make sure everyone can be found and served digitally, no matter where they live.
Department of Posts launched 'Know Your DIGIPIN' and 'Know Your PIN Code' platforms.
DIGIPIN is a geocoded, grid-based digital address system developed by Department of Posts.
The system aligns with the National Geospatial Policy 2022.
'Know Your DIGIPIN' lets users retrieve their DIGIPIN and convert between coordinates and DIGIPINs.
DIGIPIN aims to improve location accuracy and service delivery across multiple sectors.
