Samsung SmartThings Adds Matter Camera Support
Samsung's SmartThings platform is getting a big update.
It will now support Matter 1.5, which means you can connect more types of cameras and other smart-home devices to your phone.
This includes security cameras, video doorbells, and even things like blinds and garage doors.
Samsung is working with other companies to make sure these cameras work well with SmartThings.
The update will make it easier to use different brands of cameras and do things like watch your home while you're away or talk to someone at your door.
The new cameras are expected to come out in March 2026.
Samsung SmartThings now supports Matter 1.5 for camera compatibility.
Update includes support for indoor/outdoor cameras, video doorbells, and closure operations.
Features include live streaming, two-way communication, and motion detection.
Collaboration with Aqara, Eve, and Ulticam for Matter-standard cameras.
Expected launch of new cameras in March 2026.
