Trump Says He'll Soon Declare Strait Of Hormuz US Territory

The Strait of Hormuz is a very important waterway where big ships carry oil and other goods to countries around the world.

There is a war going on between the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran on the other.

At a rally at a police academy in New York, President Trump said that after the US finishes defeating Iran, he will declare the strait part of US territory.

He said Iran is 'being very badly defeated' and that the US naval blockade is called 'A WALL OF STEEL.'

But news reports say the two sides are actually stuck in a stalemate.

Iran controls a lot of the strait and does not let many civilian ships pass, while the US Navy blocks ships from reaching Iranian ports.

Iran says the strait will stay blocked until its conditions are accepted, and that it will keep control of the waterway.

International law says no single country can own the strait, so the two sides keep disagreeing.

Since the strait is so important for the world's oil and trade, other countries are worried about what happens next.
