Gujarat Legal Conclave Highlights ADR's Role in Justice
Imagine people having arguments that need a judge to solve them.
In Gujarat, the Chief Justice and other judges talked about how important it is to solve these arguments in a quick and easy way, using something called Alternate Dispute Resolution, or ADR.
This means they try to help people agree without going to a long, drawn-out court case.
The judges and lawyers also talked about how many cases are waiting to be solved and how important it is to make things faster for everyone, especially for businesses and families.
They also talked about how important having a good justice system is for businesses to thrive.
Finally, they discussed needing more space for the court in Surat.
Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal emphasized the importance of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR).
The Legal Conclave 2025 was organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI).
Over 170,000 cases are pending in the Gujarat High Court, including 50,000 in family courts.
