India's National Highways See High Fatalities in 2025
In India, many people are dying in road accidents on major highways.
In the first half of 2025, almost 27,000 people died.
That's about 150 people every day, or 6 people every hour.
The government is keeping track of these accidents and is also working to improve safety.
They have special ambulances and a helpline number to help people who get into accidents.
This problem is being tracked using a system called the eDAR portal.
Road accident fatalities on India's national highways are on the rise in 2025.
Approximately 26,770 road accident fatalities were reported up to June 2025.
The average daily death toll is close to 150, or about six deaths per hour.
The ministry uses the eDAR portal for data reporting and analysis.
Advanced Life Support ambulances have been deployed on certain highway stretches.
