IDF Faces Manpower Shortages Amid Gaza Assault
The Israeli army is having trouble getting enough soldiers.
They're calling up many reservists, which are people who used to be soldiers but aren't full-time anymore.
Some soldiers don't feel motivated, and others are refusing to join.
To fix this, the army is trying to recruit people from other countries and offering a deal to those who avoided the draft.
They are also putting more women in combat roles.
IDF is calling up 60,000 reservists for the Gaza City assault.
20,000 current reservists will have their terms extended.
A recent survey found nearly 40% of reservists feel less motivated.
Approximately 14,600 Haredi individuals are refusing conscription.
IDF is exploring recruitment of 600-700 soldiers annually from the diaspora.
