Kyrgios Withdraws from Australian Open Singles

Nick Kyrgios, a professional tennis player from Australia, has decided not to play singles at the Australian Open 2026.

He will only play doubles with his partner, Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Kyrgios recently returned from an injury and played his first singles match in a long time, but he lost.

He said that he is not ready for the long matches in singles because they are very tough.

He wants to give his spot to someone who is ready to play.

Kyrgios will still play singles in another tournament called the Kooyong Classic.

He hopes to be ready for singles at the Australian Open next year.

Stan Wawrinka will take Kyrgios' spot in the singles competition.
